We’re looking for knowledgeable individuals with interest in social investment and experience of content creation, e-learning or project management to join our team working on key projects.

Good Finance is a collaborative project that improves access to information on social investment . Our mission is to be the single trusted source of information on social investment for charities and social enterprises.

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Improving knowledge on social investment, what it is, what it can be used for and the journey and process it requires
  • Enabling organisations to make informed decisions, based on their needs and situation, not on embedded attitudes
  • Helping connect organisations to the right investors based on shared values

In addition to our digital platform, we run regional events and provide online learning opportunities.

In 2022, Good Finance turns five and with ambitious targets – including reaching over 500,000 unique users in 2022 – we’re on the lookout for new people to join us and help us deliver on our mission this year.

Project Lead: Investment Committee's of the Future

IC’s of the Future is a pilot project which is currently in its development stage. It intends to provide all the necessary information for anyone interested in becoming an IC member, especially people with diverse perspectives and experiences who are underrepresented on investment committees. The guiding principle is that anyone can become an IC member as long as they are able to share opinions and get involved in discussions.

The goal of IC’s of the future is to develop a blended learning programme and peer to peer support network to equip people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become IC members. The appointed individual would broadly be responsible for:

1. Developing the online learning programme: developing and creating an online, supported learning programme with a series of modules exploring key topics. Modules will cover learning objectives e.g. understanding what an Investment Committee is, the skills needed, how to read an IC paper and how to read technical documents.

2. Launching the peer to peer support network: curating and launching a space where people can ask questions, share news, updates and IC opportunities.
The overall aim is to upskill, prepare and inspire people working within the social sector and people from groups underrepresented on ICs to join or apply to an Investment Committee in the future. Responsibilities would include:

It takes a blended approach to learning with a combination of 4 self-directed modules and cohort webinars delivered over 6 weeks. Since its launch in 2020, approximately 100 people have completed the course.

In response to user feedback from those who have completed the course, we are looking to develop a series of standalone masterclass sessions. These would be sessions focused on specific topics that former participants have expressed an interest in learning more about.
