Good Finance Live is an opportunity for charity and social enterprise leaders who are actively seeking social investment to make valuable connections and delve into what repayable finance really entails. We want the event to be accessible and inclusive to anyone who wants to take part, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
To ensure that Good Finance Live is enjoyable and productive for all, we expect all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, participants, employees, contractors and the Good Finance Live team to follow this code of conduct, whether taking part in person or online.
Key Principles
1. Kindness and Respect: Treat everyone with kindness and respect. This includes being considerate of others' perspectives and experiences and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
2. Professional Conduct: Maintain professional behaviour at all times, including when joining the event remotely.
3. Appropriate Communication: Ensure that all communication is suitable for a professional audience. Communicate in a way that is respectful, inclusive, and welcoming to people of all backgrounds and identities.
4. Timely Registration and Attendance: Register for events in advance and make every effort to arrive on time.
5. Anti-harassment and discrimination: We will not tolerate harassment of any kind, or discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. Examples of harassment include demeaning, derogatory, or discriminatory comments; slurs or offensive jokes; comments intended to provoke, intimidate, or cause harm; unwanted sexual attention or physical contact; stalking or following someone; taking photos, videos, or screenshots without consent; and repeatedly disrupting a session or conversation.
Communication and confidentiality
We aim to create an environment where diverse communication needs are met. If you have particular communication needs, please share these with the Good Finance Team in advance of the event if possible, to enable us to accommodate.
Good Finance Live provides an opportunity for organisations to explore social investment opportunities for their organisation. Please be mindful about the information you share, particularly if that information might be considered privileged or sensitive. You should avoid sharing identifying information about individual users of your organisation’s services unless they have given explicit consent for this to be shared (for example, they agreed to share their experience for a case study).
We ask all attendees not to share information about other participants or organisations that they learn during the event, unless they have consent or are certain the information is already public. Please do not share anyone’s personal or contact details at the event without their permission.
Photography at the event
Filming and photography will take place during Good Finance Live. Written consent will be sought for videos that highlight specific individuals. If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed please contact the team at the registration desk.
Online sessions
In addition to the principles set out above, please note the following guidelines for online sessions:
1. We ask you to join from a quiet environment with a good connection, where you will not be interrupted.
2. Be mindful of others’ privacy: we ask in particular that children and users of your organisation’s services do not appear on camera.
3. You are requested to remain on mute during online sessions.
4. Please use the chat constructively and avoid swearing, personal comments, advertising or selling.
5. Do not take screenshots or recordings.
Reporting a concern
If you have a concern about the way you or anyone else has been treated, please raise it with a member of the Good Finance Live team as soon as you are able. You can speak to us in person or email Olivia – omcloughlin@bettersocietycapital.com. If you are attending an online session, you can make the host of the session aware of your concern by sending them a private message in the chat. We will take your concern seriously and work with you if necessary to find a resolution.
Breaches of this Code of Conduct
We will respond to any breaches of this Code of Conduct that come to our attention, and we reserve the right to remove anyone from the event if they violate these guidelines. If we become aware of any concern of a criminal or safeguarding nature, we may refer it to the police or the relevant authorities.
