Problem

Families who find themselves in difficult or emergency situations often lack the basic essentials to set up a home.

Solution

Furnistore works with local agencies in Redhill to help families get furniture and household appliances at a significant discount or no cost.

Revenue model

Model Furnistore sells second-hand furniture to the general public. This enables them to provide support to low income families and to repay their mortgage.

Impact

Furnistore took out a mortgage to buy their own premises. With a permanent base, they can now run their business selling second-hand furniture and provide emergency support to those that need it most in their community.

Charity Bank was delighted to reach agreement on a loan to enable Furnistore to buy its own premises when rising rent forced the charity to move. We consider loan applications on two criteria. First, the financial stability and affordability of the loan request; and second, the social impact our loan is going to enable that organisation to make.
